We are grateful that we could continue our work well in 2022. Currently we are in preparation for the Christmas party that will take place at the end of November.
January 2021
It is currently summer vacation in South Africa.
We have a mutation of Corona.
The government has therefore postponed the start of school by 1 1/2 months (probably in mid-February). Sir Lowrys Pass is part of Cape Town, so it is part of the hotspot. At night, the military is deployed to ensure that the people keep the curfew. State hospitals have reached their capacities.

Our Christmas party was a great success. The Christmas party was organized under Corona conditions.
The joyful news, games, feeding and common prayer encouraged and delighted the children.

Despite Corona, our work continues. The children's meals are very popular. Children are fed and hear Gods word.

Distribution of food parcels for families. A family of four can live on such a package for a week.

Since this week we have permission to carry out children's meals. They also get a word from God and an encouragement for their everyday life.
We are very grateful for donations to feed the children.

The corona virus has now reached South Africa, too. For this reason, our volunteers had to leave South Africa on March 23, 2020 and return to Germany.
Our children are now on Easter vacation. We have to wait and see when the work with the children can continue.

In Cape Town we have from Friday 27th of March a curfew and contact ban, for minimum three weeks. Nonetheless, the work continues because we can now work on all the things that we had to put aside before or only continued very slowly. We are involved in the project planning of a child protection house and a water project. You can read more about it at "Development".
December-January
From December through January Summer Camps for Boy groups Girl groups are being held.
The content of the program varies according to the age of the participating children. During Camp the children learn about Gods word and how to live accordingly. Other activities include: Games, Swimming, Camping, spending quality time as a group and talking about relevant topics for life in an age appropriate manner.
All in all four different Summer Camps will be held for a total of 107 children (49 girls and 58 boys) by 10 team leaders with the help of 12 Young Leaders. The cost per child is 40$ which include 2 nights, 3 meals per day and all activities.

At the Christmas party, 270 children learned that God loves each of them and provides them individually with what every single child needs. From the beginning of September, the shoe and dress sizes of the registered children were collected. The goods were then bought in shops in the region. Age-appropriate small gifts have been added to the parcels bearing the children's names. A personal gift is not common here in the township. So the word became Isaiah 43, 1 “Do not be afraid, because I have redeemed you; I have called you by name; you are my “experience for them. The joy of the children was huge again and so the team was allowed to look into happy faces and shining children's eyes.
